In 2007 CNN and Travelandleisure.com asked 60,000 people to rank their favorite cities in the US for culture. These could easily be the top ten cities and towns in America. New York, once again, tops this list which is no surprise because everybody knows that the culture there is very vibrant. The people, neighborhoods and and cityscape is amazing there and very, very diverse.
California is well represented on this list as well. The biggest state population-wise, the Golden State is home to several of the the largest and most cultural cities in the US. San Francisco is popular with tourists for multiple reasons. One of the most iconic monuments in the country, the Golden Gate Bridge, connects San Francisco with neighboring Marin County. The nearly two mile bridge is one of the recognizable landmarks not only in the city, but the entire country. Not as universally recognized as cultural hubs are Los Angeles and San Diego. The two southern California cities are known for its beautiful beaches, but also contain multiple museums, fine dining and plenty of activities, which qualifies them on this list.
