Stressful
On a Saturday night, bartenders don't stop moving around. Their minds are constantly going, remembering orders, refilling kegs, splitting checks, and trying to please all these thirsty people.
Lucrative
How many other jobs are there in which you can walk away with $400 after a busy night, and it's in cash?
Underrated
People assume it is a miserable job, but if you like people, and money, it is actually a good deal.
Frustrating
The manager is in a bad mood again. You got stuck working with the new girl. And people seem to be extra rude tonight.
Very Social and Engaging
You get a lot of face time with people, and you get to meet a lot of really cool strangers. It forces you to step outside of your comfort zone and engage with different people.
Perfectly Accceptable
Like waitressing, people assume that if you are working as a bartender, it's because you don't have a college degree or have run out of other options. Not true.
A Lot Harder Than Most People Think
It is not as simple as pouring beers and smiling. You need to know how to make a lot of drinks, you have to deal with intoxicated people on a regular basis, and you have to keep track of people and their bills.
A Great Way to Get Extra Cash
Not all nights are going to be busy, but when they are, it makes it so worth it.
The Perfect Side Job
Whether you are in school, or you just want an additional job to earn some extra cash, being a bartender is usually pretty flexible as far as schedules go.
Funny
Yes, it is a lot of hard work, but you also get to enjoy entertaining, drunken debauchery from your customers.
