The 20 Craziest Food-Related World Records
The Guinness Book of World Records was originally used as a reference for bars to keep on hand to settle bar bets about the biggest, smallest, fasted, longest, and weirdest things in the world. Now with the advent of the Internet, a physical book is no longer needed, but the tradition of wanting to be the biggest or best at something has not faded away.

Nowadays, it is less about topping someone else's record, and more about coming up with a record that nobody has tried yet. This list includes ridiculous things such as the most oysters eaten in three minutes, the biggest hot dog on the market, the most milkshakes made with someone's nose, and more. You would think there aren't any more food-related records left, but surely someone will come up with another batch of crazy and pointless feats next year.

Most Eggs Cracked With One Hand in One Minute
Ross McCurdy of the United States cracked 32 eggs with one hand in one minute back in 2011. No word on if they made a huge omelette with it afterwards.
Largest Iced Coffee
In a massive waste of perfectly good caffeine, the website GourmetGiftBaskets.com set the record for largest iced coffee in 2010 with their 1,500 gallon cup of java.
Most People Flipping Pancakes
On February 15, 2012, 890 people flipped pancakes simultaneously in the UK, setting the world record. You may be wondering if anybody dropped their pancake. The answer is yes: 40 people did. They were disqualified.
Most People Husking Corn
3,463 people gathered together in a stadium and husked a corn cob on August 24, 2012. This set the record for "most people husking corn at one time" and also possibly "most pointless task ever."
Most Expensive Caviar
Do you have so much money you can't even find anything else to waste it on? Buy some Iranian Beluga caviar, which costs about $34,000 a kilogram.
Most Stinging Nettles Eaten in One Minute
Who in their right mind would eat anything with the word "stinging" right in the name? The answer is Alex Williams, who ate over five feet of stinging nettles in one minute in the UK in 2005. Ouch.
Highest Toast-Popping Toaster
Who knows why this would be useful in any circumstance, but the toaster designed by Freddie Yauner of the United Kingdom can launch toasted bread 8.6 feet into the air.
The Most Ice Cream Scoops on a Single Cone
On July 22, 2002, an Italian man named Dimitri Panciera managed to balance 71 scoops of ice cream on one cone, gaining him the world record. Granted, it was technically gelato, not regular ice cream, but it still counts.
The Most Beer Bottles Opened With Teeth in One Minute
Murali K.C. opened 68 bottles with his teeth in one minute in September of 2011. Later that year, his dentist bought a new vacation home.
The Most Oysters Eaten in Three Minutes
On September 3, 2005, in the United Kingdom, a man named Colin Shirlow ate a whopping 233 oysters in only three minutes. No word on whether he set the record for "most disgusting-looking vomit" later that day.
