Exodus: Gods and Kings Movie Quotes
“Exodus: Gods and Kings” movie quotes tell the biblical story of Exodus when Moses squared up against Ramesses to free the slaves of Egypt. The film was directed by Ridley Scott and written by Steven Zaillian, Jeffrey Caine, Adam Cooper and Bill Collage. “Exodus: Gods and Kings” opened in theaters on December 12, 2014.

In “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” Moses (Christian Bale) learns that a prophecy was made regarding a glorious leader who would lead the slaves from Egypt to freedom and that he is in fact that leader. To accomplish this, however, he must go up against Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II (Joel Edgerton), someone who Moses grew up with as close as a brother.

But when Ramesses II doesn’t go quietly to Moses’s intent to free the slaves and isn’t interested in the word of God Moses is speaking of, this sets the stage for an epic battle. Up against insurmountable odds and a tough army, Moses must find a way to lead the Egyptian slaves to freedom.

Aaron Paul, John Tuturo, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and Maria Valverde co-star in the film which opens alongside the likes of "Wild," "Life Partners," "Comet," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," "Horrible Bosses 2, "Penguins of Madagascar," "Dumb and Dumber To," "Foxcatcher," "Beyond the Lights," "The Homesman," "Interstellar," "The Theory of Everything," "Nightcrawler," "Big Hero 6," "Before I Go to Sleep," and "Horns.”

This is About Egypt's Survival
Moses: “I came to tell you, something is coming that is out of my control. This is about Egypt’s survival, do you understand?”
Ramesses II: “Who has been telling you this?”
Moses: “God”

In what could be seen as an attempt to spare his close brother-like pal Ramesses II from what is soon to be a bloodbath, Moses gives Ramesses II a heads up on the war to come. Ramesses II isn’t too intimidated by this God nonsense nor what Moses claims is coming.
God is With Us
Moses: “There is a sea ahead and an army behind. Ready yourselves. You’ve honored me with your trust. If you stay, you will perish. Follow me, you will be free. Do not be afraid. God is with us.”

Moses gives his followers a speech as they face insurmountable odds on the path to freedom. He urges them to follow him with bravery and all will be well in the end.
I Want Moses and His Family Dead
Ramesses I: “I want Moses and his family dead.”

Ramesses II calls a full scale war against Moses. Though once they were close, Ramesses II now wants Moses and his family killed.
Let's Just See Who is More Effective at Killing
Ramesses II: “You say you did not cause all this. You say this is not your fault. So let’s just see who is more effective at killing, you or me.”

Ramesses II has had enough of Moses and his smack talking. He wants to get down to business and is ready to see who is really the tough guy when they get into battle.
Keep Each Other Safe Always
Seti I: “Moses, Ramesses, when I look at you I still see the two boys who grew up together close as brothers. Keep each other safe always.”

Seti offers some wise advise to Moses and Ramesses II. Seti watched them grow up like brothers and hopes that they can keep this mutual respect for one another as adults.
That Leader is You, Moses
Nun: “You know something’s wrong. You always felt it. You parents never told you the truth.”
Moses: “What truth?”
Nun: “The year of your birth, there was a prophecy that our leader would be born to liberate us. That leader is you, Moses.”
Nun tells Moses a secret that his parents kept from him previously. As Nun explains, Moses is destined to be their leader and the one who will liberate the slaves, not that Moses should feel any pressure or anything.
When Will You Leave Me?
Moses: “What is the most important thing in your life?”
Miriam: “You are. And when will you leave me?”
Moses: “Never”

Moses speaks to sister Miriam as she has her doubts about his mission to free the slaves. She worries about Moses’s safety, and for good reason.
Is That A Threat?
Moses: “After 400 years of slavery, things here have become much worse. As your brother, you must set them free.”
Ramesses II: “Is that a threat?”
Moses: “Yes!”

Moses approaches Ramesses II to tell him what’s about to go down, in case Ramesses II wants to surrender now. As Moses explains, it’s time to free the slaves, something he threatens to do so personally.
I Am A God
Ramesses II: “I am a God. I am a God!”

Ramesses II has heard enough of Moses talking about his God. Ramesses II thinks he too is a God and has just the same right to be spreading his word.
