One of the top US music festivals, Coachella has become a staple in the American zeitgeist, a rite of passage of sorts for the Twitter generation to dance to reunited rockers and up and coming indie bands. While, arguably, Coachella is known just as much for its celeb sightings as the actual bands that play there every year, the two weekend-long party in the Coachella Valley is the music festival of the year and an event not to be missed.

Surprisingly, Coachella originated back in 1999, has thrown the wildest of dance parties ever since (save for 2000), and shows no signs of slowing down. Coachella 2015 sold out within hours of tickets going on sale, but even if you can never get tickets, fear not: We're sure your friends will document every moment through social media.
