49 Fashion Trends That Should Make a Comeback
A list of 70s, 80s and 90s fashion trends that have fizzled out, but could totally make a comeback. These retro fashion trends were awesome to start with and could be even better the second time around. Fashion is cyclical, so it wouldn't even be that big of a stretch for many of these 80s fashion trends to return in a big, mainstream way. Many 80s and 90s trends have already made a comeback so there is absolutely no reason why these shouldn't too. Bring them back!

While we'd be happy if many of the worst fashion trends in history never return, we think these ones should. Vote for your favorite past trends of the 70s, 80s and 90s and add any old fashion trends that you'd like to see come back.

Jellies
Jellies are the bees knees. Every few years, designers stick them in their runway collections and fashion editors proclaim that they are back in (!) but that's usually just wishful thinking. We'd like to see them make a real comeback.
Guess Jeans
Super tight high-waisted denim with the trademark upside-down triangle on the butt. Awesome! These would be right at home in today's fashion landscape.
Zig Zag Headbands
These things dominated women's hair trends in the late 90s. (Along with butterfly clips, which will not be making an appearance on this list.) All the cool girls wore them--including Sabrina the Teenage Witch and every Delia's model ever--and when done right, they actually looked pretty good.

See?

Leisure Suits
Yes!
JNCO Jeans
No one knew what JNCO meant, but you automatically looked like the cool kid on the block if you had a pair.
Tube Tops
They definitely didn't work on everyone, but on the right figure, these tops looked pretty damn sexy.
Brown Lipstick
A staple of Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore in the 90s and a rite of passage for any teenage girl experimenting with makeup.
Flip Sunglasses
So functional!
Peasant Tops
Something about these tops makes everyone look like a character in a romance novel, and it's kind of amazing.
Hypercolor
It is a travesty that these ever went out of style. What happened? (If you are actually wondering, with some googling we discovered that Generra, the company that created the lovable color-changing shirts, quickly made millions dollars and then went bankrupt all within the span of 1991-1992). Apparently it was way too much awesomeness on a grand scale, all at once.

With the number of '80s and '90s babies out there today who remember Hypercolor fondly, we are betting this trend could make a successful return.
