The Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor have been around fighting crime seperately, but it wasn't until 1963 that the Avengers finally assembled, thanks to the comic book legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Having first united to defeat the God of Mischief himself, Loki, it was Ant-Man who suggested honoring their excellent teamwork with an official team. Since then, they've battled the likes of Thanos, Ultron, and so many other adversaries.
